Accounting Associate | Marshall & Stevens

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Marshall & Stevens, located in Oklahoma. Marshall & Stevens is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support senior team members on specialized client engagements. This position is crucial for expanding the team’s capacity in areas such as forensic accounting, financial analysis, and bankruptcy-related work, directly contributing to essential client deliverables. The role is ideal for individuals looking to apply their accounting background beyond traditional audit or tax fields.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday, generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Location: In-person, Oklahoma

• Team: Supports senior team members and works under the direction of senior professionals.
• Mission: To provide foundational support for specialized forensic accounting, financial analysis, and bankruptcy-related client engagements through detailed financial review and data organization.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review financial and accounting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for client engagements.
• Analyze and summarize complex financial information for inclusion in client deliverables and reports.
• Prepare and maintain detailed financial spreadsheets and schedules for various project requirements.
• Support specialized engagements including forensic accounting, financial investigations, and bankruptcy-related projects.
• Organize and maintain accurate workpapers and supporting documentation for all projects and analyses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, suitable for recent graduates and early-career professionals.
• Experience: Approximately 1–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, financial analysis, or related experience preferred, but not required. Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
• Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, foundational understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bonus: CPA, CPA-track, or interest in pursuing a CPA or other relevant professional credential; prior exposure to bankruptcy, forensic accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis; interest in applying an accounting background outside of traditional audit or tax work.
