Accounting Associate | Sedgwick

• Mission: This role is responsible for various risk pool client accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations, and preparing reports for management.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, accounting software program(s), manual and automated accounting systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Records: Create and maintain accurate and complete accounting records and files.
• Reconciliations: Prepare bank, investment, and various balance sheet account reconciliations, including related journal entries.
• Transaction Processing: Manage accounts payable for risk pool clients, including coding, verifying signatures, processing checks, and filing.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare necessary reports and communicate results to management.
• Problem Resolution: Research, track, resolve, or properly refer accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. One to two years of related experience, including one year of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: One year of accounting experience.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles, familiarity with accounting software, proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent spreadsheet, keyboarding, 10-key, and data entry skills, analytical and interpretive skills, strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: Associate degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited college or university; experience including financial statement preparation and insurance accounting, both statutory and GAAP.
