Accountant, Property Accounting | BXP, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BXP, Inc., located in the Greater Boston area. BXP operates a portfolio of properties, including office and retail spaces, managing everything from construction to client relations. This position provides essential support to senior accounting staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and contributing to financial reporting accuracy, which is crucial for property management and client satisfaction.

• Mission: Support senior accountants in daily general accounting tasks and financial reporting for property operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Closing: Assist Senior Accountants with the quarterly close process, preparing lead and supporting schedules and generating reports for audit binders.
• Budget Support: Support Senior Accountants in the preparation and review of operating revenue and expense budgets as necessary, and assist with all 404-compliance responsibilities.
• Client Relations & Billing: Act as a direct contact for customers to resolve Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable questions, coordinating client invoicing through billable work orders and for building client authorizations.
• Revenue Analysis: Prepare monthly and quarterly Revenue Analysis for office and retail clients, generating recurring billing comparison reports and explaining current and year-to-date revenue and expense variances.
• Account Reconciliation: Prepare monthly security deposit, letters of credit, accounts receivable, mortgage payables, and other balance sheet account reconciliations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree; a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred. This is an early-career role.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience. Experience in customer service, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting is preferred.
• Skills: Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Demonstrated leadership abilities in a comparable team role, a self-confident approach to operating independently, and the ability to formulate sound decisions.
