Entry level Staff Accountant | Reliant ES

This entry-level role is crucial for supporting the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting and financial records, directly contributing to the organization’s ability to track profit and loss, tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with financial standards.

• Mission: To support the organization by preparing and maintaining precise accounting and financial records to track financial activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Support: Contribute to the clarity and accuracy of monthly financial statements by assisting with detailed narratives.
• Account Reconciliation: Accurately reconcile critical balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, security deposits, and pre-funded transactions.
• Bank & Lease Reconciliation: Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, verifying deposits, addressing bank inquiries, and ensuring lease payments align with vendor agreements.
• Financial Close Assistance: Provide essential support during the monthly, quarterly, and annual accrual and financial close processes, collaborating with various accounting teams.
• Regulatory Compliance: Manage and renew necessary permits, business registrations (e.g., Sunbiz), sales tax certificates, and other vital annual reports as required.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, demonstrating a foundational understanding of core accounting principles.
• Experience: Bring 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, or possess a CPA certification (preferred).
• Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail, a solid knowledge of accrual accounting, and a firm grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Bonus: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is a preferred qualification for this role.
