What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports, monitor aging reports, and follow up on overdue customer accounts to ensure accurate recording of cash flow.
• Process Payroll Operations: Manage end-to-end monthly or bi-weekly payroll, including verifying timesheets, wage calculations, and deductions, and correctly filing quarterly and annual payroll tax forms.
• Perform Bank and Account Reconciliations: Reconcile all company bank accounts and credit cards on a monthly basis, actively identifying and resolving any banking discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support General Accounting and Compliance: Maintain the general ledger, prepare monthly journal entries, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and help ensure compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
• Maintain Financial Records and Documentation: Enter financial data into accounting software, organize documentation essential for financial audits, and support the preparation of monthly and annual financial summaries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Foundational knowledge of Accounting and Finance suitable for supporting day-to-day construction business operations.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with Quickbooks and other accounting software systems used for data entry, reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Skills: Bookkeeping skills for recording transactions and maintaining ledgers; Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email applications; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple tasks and deadlines; Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external teams.
