Accounting Assistant | Royal American Management, Inc

This role is crucial for understanding departmental functions within First Service Corporation and how they support the Royal American Companies, thereby facilitating collaborative projects across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deadlines: Meet strict deadlines established by department and management agreements.
• Reporting: Review accounting reports for accuracy and tie out balance sheet items to support.
• Interpretation: Interpret business documents to understand their potential impact on financial statements.
• Projects: Manage assigned projects and coordinate with necessary staff to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Assignments: Attend meetings as directed and complete other assignments as needed to meet departmental and business needs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), familiarity with financial statements, partnership agreements, and monthly close processes.
• Experience: Documented experience with accounting software is required.
• Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel and Word, a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), effective organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to read and understand financial statements and business documents.
• Bonus: A BS Degree in Business or Accounting is preferred, and specific experience with Sage (Timberline) software is a plus.
