Summer Intern – Accounting | The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC)

The Tone:
This is a seasonal, 12-week internship at The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), located in Chicago with a hybrid work program. OCC is the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, dedicated to promoting stability and market integrity by delivering clearing and settlement services for options, futures, and securities lending transactions. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, applying your skills and knowledge to real challenges facing the business. • Team: The Accounting team is responsible for OCC’s financial statements, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee costs, financial statement preparation, supplier management, and tax, while the Finance team handles financial planning and analysis.
• Mission: This person will support the accounting and finance teams in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and contributing to financial planning processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams.
• Assist: Support month-end close activities.
• Observe: Shadow the budget and forecasting process.
• Prepare: Support financial statement preparation.
• Collaborate: Engage in cross-functional ad hoc projects across Accounting and Finance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled undergraduate rising senior or second-year graduate student at a college or university, graduating December 2027 or May/August 2028, with a desired major in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required beyond the academic enrollment criteria.
• Skills: Proficient in Excel.
• Bonus: Artificial Intelligence Experience.
