ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE | California Department of Social Services

What You’ll Actually Do
Financial Accounting: Learn to establish and maintain accounts and financial records while receiving professional accounting training and performing professional accounting duties.
Operational Learning: Gain understanding of agency activities, departmental systems, and central fiscal control procedures within the organization.
Fiscal Oversight: Exercise central fiscal control activities and contribute to the preparation, review, and analysis of various accounts and records of financial transactions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and utilize interpersonal skills through interaction with program personnel and control agencies involved in fiscal activities.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure the accurate processing of disbursements in accordance with the Budget Act and other statutory authority, aligning with the bureau’s responsibility.
