Accountant | Toyota Material Handling

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Toyota Material Handling, located in Greene, NY, offering a hybrid work schedule of three days in-office and two days remote after training. Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is the industry leader in forklift sales, comprising two main brands: Toyota Material Handling and The Raymond Corporation. This Accountant position is crucial for supporting the National Accounts and ESS departments by providing essential financial insight and precision. What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close: Own and drive month-end closing activities, including journal entries and general ledger accuracy.
• Inventory Process: Lead the inventory financial process, covering standard costing, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze revenue and expense reports to ensure financial accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with sales, operations, and treasury teams to ensure financial alignment.
• Project Support: Support internal and external audits, forecasting initiatives, and various ad-hoc projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, providing the foundational knowledge necessary to manage complex financial processes and contribute effectively to the National Accounts and ESS departments.
• Experience: Candidates must bring 3 or more years of multi-faceted accounting and business-related experience, demonstrating a robust understanding of financial operations and the ability to apply practical insights within a corporate setting.
• Skills: Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work independently on critical financial tasks and thrive within cross-functional environments, ensuring financial alignment across departments.
• Bonus: Excellent Microsoft Excel proficiency is highly valued for data analysis and reporting. Prior experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems is preferred for seamless integration into existing financial infrastructures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation are critical for maintaining financial integrity. The ideal candidate will be flexible and dependable in an evolving business landscape, adapting to new challenges effectively. A problem-solving mindset, particularly with experience resolving issues related to inventory, invoicing, and general accounting, will set a candidate apart.
