What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, department cost centers, and ProCard transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Budget Monitoring: Assist with monitoring departmental budgets and maintaining detailed financial spreadsheets to ensure accurate tracking of funds and expenditures.
• Purchasing Coordination: Prepare and submit purchase requests, including Mav eShop carts, requisitions, purchase orders, quotes, and service contracts, in accordance with university policies.
• Advisory Support: Interpret and explain university purchasing rules and regulations, advising department staff on proper purchasing methods and allowable expenditures.
• Financial Entries: Prepare, enter, and track budget corrections, transfers, and journal entries to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: Two (2) years of experience preparing detailed reconciliations, and experience using PeopleSoft and MS Excel.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills.
• Bonus: An Accounting degree.
