Accountant | Adhesive Applications
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Adhesive Applications, located in Easthampton, MA. Adhesive Applications is part of a multi-division family business engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of products serving industries worldwide. They specialize in pressure-sensitive tapes, alongside sister companies focusing on foam manufacturing, metal sheet finishing, and furniture products. This role is crucial for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to the timely completion of financial close activities across the organization.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $60000–$90000 yearly
• Mission: This person owns the accurate execution of day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial close activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile: Perform comprehensive reconciliations for bank accounts, cash, credit cards, and expense reports.
• Process Transactions: Manage the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts, including recording all related accounting entries and completing credit applications.
• Manage Accounts Receivable: Maintain precise accounts receivable records, apply credits, manage collections, review aging reports, and resolve account differences, including direct outreach to customers via phone, email, and mail.
• Track & File: Track and maintain detailed fixed asset records, prepare and support sales and use tax filings, and conduct related reconciliations.
• Close & Report: Oversee end-to-end accounting functions, including executing month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, reviewing the general ledger, generating financial reports, and fulfilling tax or audit requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Relevant experience with core accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Skills: Demonstrate intermediate Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas, lookups, and data review; possess solid accounting fundamentals, a strong analytical mindset, and excellent organizational skills; exhibit a detail-oriented approach and comfort working effectively with deadlines.
• Bonus: MS in Accounting, CPA certification, or active CPA-track experience is preferred, along with prior experience using commonly used accounting or ERP systems and the ability to use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.
