Account Manager | CBRE

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at CBRE, located in New York, USA. CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) – Local delivers hard services-led, tailored facility management solutions, self-performing hard services and partnering with best-in-class soft service providers. We offer custom facility and project management solutions designed to empower teams with high-level accountability. This role is crucial for overseeing a small to medium-sized team, ensuring all client commitments are met, and coordinating staff functions and operations to support the organization’s strategic goals.

• Team: Manages a small to medium-sized team; part of the Operations Management job function; presents findings to Senior Management.
• Mission: Oversee and coordinate a team to ensure the delivery of all client commitments and strategic operational goals.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Provide formal supervision to employees, overseeing their training, development, performance evaluations, coaching, recruiting, and hiring.
• Operational Coordination: Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities, establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, cross-training staff, and setting/tracking deadlines.
• Client Relationship Management: Manage sales and relationships with small to medium-sized clients, identifying new sales opportunities and improvements within existing accounts.
• Service Delivery Monitoring: Monitor service level performance to ensure client service levels are met and exceeded, presenting findings to Senior Management.
• Project Oversight: Prioritize open issues and tasks, serve as a point of contact for key systems and processes for projects, and manage client and project team expectations regarding scope and responsibilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level, with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of experience and education, focusing on operations management and client commitment delivery.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience, with preferred experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, extensive organizational skills, a strong inquisitive mindset, leadership skills to motivate team impact, and the ability to guide the exchange of sensitive information and handle problems.
• Bonus: Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, rewarding performance, and retention.
