Account Coordinator, Literary | DEY. Ideas + Influence

The Tone:
This is an entry-level, primarily remote role at DEY. Ideas + Influence, located in the tri-state area with a preference for New York City. DEY. is a boutique global advisory and communications firm that partners with influential organizations, authors, and thinkers to amplify big ideas across climate, global health, AI, and foreign policy. They work with a curated list of high-caliber clients, including Nobel Prize winners and institutions like The World Bank, to move the needle on humanity’s future. This Account Coordinator position offers a genuine opportunity for professional growth, focusing on nonfiction book publicity, and directly supporting campaigns for high-profile authors and agency-wide operations from day one.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account + Project Management: Provide logistical and strategic support for nonfiction book publicity campaigns and manage project timelines, vendor relationships, and meeting schedules.
• Media + Research Support: Develop media lists, monitor client media coverage, and conduct industry research to inform campaign strategy and identify relevant media targets.
• Content Development + Writing: Draft pitch materials, client emails, press releases, and briefing documents, and manage DEY.’s agency social media presence.
• New Business Support: Research potential new clients and assist with pitch strategy, proposal writing, and tracking for business development efforts.
• Administrative + Reporting: Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, track project milestones, and generate monthly activity and coverage reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BA in communications, journalism, English, public relations, or a related field; entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required for this entry-level role.
• Skills: Exceptional writing and verbal communication; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; excellent research skills; a proactive mindset; proficiency with social media platforms and digital communications tools.
• Bonus: Prior internship or coursework in book publicity, publishing, PR, or journalism; familiarity with Muckrack, Cision, Monday.com, Asana, agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude), or Canva; interest in nonfiction publishing, thought leadership, or policy-oriented communications.
