• Mission: Owns the accurate and independent maintenance of complex, District-wide financial and statistical records to support administrative and legal requirements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Perform complex and responsible clerical work to maintain financial or statistical records with District-wide significance.
• Problem Solving: Independently solve a variety of problems relating to the records maintained or the procedures followed, identifying when supervisory attention is required.
• Reporting: Prepare accurate financial summaries and reports based on meticulous record keeping.
• Calculations: Execute arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy for various financial tasks.
• Equipment Operation: Effectively operate modern office equipment, including personal computers and calculators, to manage records and data.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a professional with education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, including or supplemented by courses in typing and bookkeeping or accounting.
• Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance of financial or statistical records.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of personal computers and related software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing); familiarity with methods and practices of financial record keeping and bookkeeping terminology; ability to perform responsible clerical work without continuous supervision; ability to type at a speed of 30 words per minute from clear copy containing a large percentage of numerical or tabular data.
