2027 Summer Intern – Finance & Accounting Analyst | PIMCO

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at PIMCO, located in Newport Beach, CA. PIMCO is a global leader in active fixed income, established in 1971, and has spent over 50 years helping millions of investors pursue their objectives. This role is integral to the Finance team, which is responsible for PIMCO’s financial management, planning, and strategic decision-making, ensuring reliable financial analysis and reporting. Through this internship, you will gain direct exposure to the financial drivers of the firm and contribute to its operational success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Preview: Gain a preview of the Finance team’s operations and exposure to key financial drivers of the firm.
• Projects: Work on specific projects across areas including Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Client Billing.
• Partnering: Engage in partnering opportunities with the Executive Office on strategic financial initiatives.
• Training: Participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training during Week 1 to acquire foundational skills and knowledge.
• Technology: Utilize AI-powered tools from day one, benefiting from provided training and resources to build future-ready skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an undergraduate degree, enrolled at a university during Fall 2027, with a minimum 3.4 cumulative collegiate GPA, and knowledge of accounting and finance principles. Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028.
• Experience: Business proficient in English, demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects.
• Skills: Effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, strong commitment to producing high-quality work with attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
