Job Description: 2026 Summer Scientific Research & Development Intern – Graduate

This is an exciting graduate-level internship opportunity for the Summer of 2026, located in Winston Salem, NC.

Interns in the Scientific Research & Development (SR&D) department will play a crucial role in the research and development of next-generation products. They may be selected to work in various specialized areas, including:
Reduced-risk products.
Sensory science.
Ingredient innovation.

Projects undertaken during the internship can be either lab-based or data/field-research oriented.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
• Conducting laboratory experiments and meticulously documenting findings.
• Analyzing chemical, biological, or physical product attributes.
• Collaborating on projects related to regulatory affairs, toxicology, or consumer science.
• Presenting research findings to multi-functional teams.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing a graduate-level degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science, Biomedical Science, or equivalent majors.
Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge of lab safety.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, R, and JMP.
• Strong skills in scientific writing and project documentation.
Location: Must be willing to work in Winston Salem, NC.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Salary and Benefits Overview:
Wage Information: The hourly rate for Graduate Interns is $38.50 per hour.
