2026 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM | JT4, LLC

The Tone:
This is a 14-week, paid summer internship at JT4, LLC, located in Edwards Air Force Base, CA. JT4, LLC provides essential engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges, serving the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the J-Tech II contract. The company is dedicated to developing and maintaining realistic, integrated test and training environments. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain valuable career experience by actively participating in projects that prepare our nation’s war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for current missions and future global challenges. Interns will explore diverse career paths within highly technical departments and contribute to significant national defense efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engineering Research: Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in gathering technical information, while staying informed of relevant standards and procedures.
• Fundamental Engineering Tasks: Perform core engineering tasks such as tolerance studies and design calculations, applying standard techniques.
• Programming and Algorithm Development: Engage in real-time programming (e.g., C, VxWorks) and mathematical algorithm development (i.e., MatLab) for active projects.
• Object-Oriented Software Creation: Develop object-oriented programming solutions using C++, C#, and/or Java for system and infrastructure adaptations.
• Technical Problem Solving & Documentation: Plan and execute engineering steps to resolve technical problems using standard practices, and assist in preparing reports or technical studies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum sophomore class standing with a declared major course of study in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
• Experience: Ability to qualify for and maintain a Top Secret/Single Scope Background Investigation (TS/SSBI), which strictly requires U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship).
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office applications; demonstrable coursework in relevant engineering, computer science, or mathematics fields.
• Bonus: A strong academic record and GPA are key selection criteria; for electrical engineering roles, coursework in electromagnetics, antenna theory, and communication protocols is highly desirable; additional technical job experience or related hobbies demonstrating practical skills are also valued.
