Internship Program Overview

Our comprehensive internship program is designed to provide genuine hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of insurance and financial services. Interns will gain significant exposure to one or more of our core business areas:

  • Employee Benefits
  • Property & Casualty
  • Wealth Management
  • Retirement Planning Services

Placements are determined based on both intern interests and prevailing business needs. You will work in-person alongside seasoned industry professionals, benefiting from direct mentorship, engaging in professional development sessions, and interacting with organizational leaders. Interns will also join a collaborative cohort, fostering networking opportunities, skill development, and exploring potential pathways to full-time employment within Alera Group.

Key Responsibilities

As a Summer Intern, you will play an active role in supporting our teams by:

  • Conducting research, gathering data, and assisting with basic analysis.
  • Preparing and organizing various documents, reports, presentations, and internal materials.
  • Participating actively in team meetings, trainings, and job shadowing experiences.
  • Supporting project coordination efforts, including task tracking and follow-ups.
  • Communicating effectively with team members to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Maintaining accurate records and performing data entry tasks.
  • Contributing fresh ideas, asking insightful questions, and taking initiative on assigned tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in the insurance and financial services industries.
  • Motivated to participate fully in team efforts with a strong collaborative spirit.
  • Possesses strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is open to incorporating feedback for continuous improvement.

Additional Information & Logistics

  • The internship program will run for approximately 10 weeks, from early June through mid-August 2026. Exact dates will be mutually determined by the intern and their direct manager.
  • Must be local to this office to apply.
