About the Job: 2026 Summer Human Resources Intern – Undergraduate

This is an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate Human Resources Intern for the Summer 2026 term, located in Winston Salem, NC.

The internship offers exposure to the diverse and cross-functional landscape of Human Resources. Interns will primarily be anchored in one core HR area, which may include Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Learning & Development, or Business Partnering. The goal is to provide a comprehensive learning experience that includes:
• Contributing to meaningful projects that support BAT’s global people strategy and create tangible impact.
• Building foundational knowledge across all HR disciplines through curated learning experiences and collaborative engagement.
• Understanding how various HR functions work together to deliver innovative, people-centered solutions.
• Connecting with experienced professionals and leaders who are invested in the intern’s growth.
• Gaining hands-on experience that establishes a strong foundation for a career in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Contributing to intern and early career program planning and execution.
Conducting research and benchmarking to inform HR policies and practices.
Developing recommendations for new solutions to support employees.
Supporting the development of HR analytics and people dashboards.
Assisting in the rollout of wellness, employee engagement, or learning initiatives within the assigned focus area.

What Reynolds American is Looking For (Qualifications):
Education: Pursuing an undergraduate degree with completed coursework in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organizational Development, or equivalent majors.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Forms, survey tools (Qualtrics), and LinkedIn.
Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Personal Attributes: An action-oriented, innovative leader with strong influencing skills and a drive for results.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills.
Location Requirement: Must be willing to work in Winston Salem, NC.
Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Salary and Benefits Overview:

Wage Information:
Hourly Rate: Undergraduate Interns will receive a rate of $21.00 per hour.
