Job Description (2026 Summer Associate – Litigation Department, Chicago Office):

Position Title: 2026 Summer Associate

Department: Litigation Department

Location: Chicago Office

Role Type: Hybrid position with four days in-office expectations.

Program Overview: This is a summer associate program aimed at rising second-year law students for the 2026 summer. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:
Summer associates provide substantive support to attorneys through:
• Legal research
• Legal writing
• Discovery assistance
• Other substantive legal support
In the Chicago office, summer associates will gain exposure and work on assignments across various litigation practices, including:
• Complex Disputes
• Labor & Employment
• Government Investigations & White Collar Defense
• Real Estate and Construction
• Privacy and Technology

Anticipated Salary:
• The anticipated salary for this position in Chicago is $4,134.00 per week. This is Nixon Peabody’s good faith estimate at the time of posting.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will be:
Rising second-year law students (for the 2026 summer program).
• Have a demonstrated interest and/or experience in litigation.
• Possess strong academic credentials (3.0 GPA or higher).
• Exhibit superb judgment and communication skills.
• Demonstrate excellent legal writing skills.
• Show a commitment to teamwork and excellent client service.
