2026 Operations Internship

About Community Bridges:
Community Bridges is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Concord, NH, and the Lakes Region. They offer a supportive and enriching environment committed to advocacy and community integration.

About the Internship Program:
Community Bridges provides internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates who demonstrate interest or experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. All internships include an educational component, encouraging interns to contextualize their experience and reflect on their service. These are unpaid internships and align with the US semester system.

Internship Periods:

  • Summer Internship: June 2026 – August 2026
  • Fall Internship: September 2026 – December 2026

Commitment & Application:
First consideration is given to applicants who can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the outlined semester. Community Bridges encourages all interested candidates to apply, even if their schedule doesn’t perfectly fit the semester system, as exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. Slots fill quickly, so early application is highly encouraged.

Format:
This internship will be a hybrid format, requiring some in-person hours at the Concord, NH office.

Operations Internship Overview:
The Operations Intern will collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to gain comprehensive knowledge of and contribute to operations initiatives that support various teams across the organization. This is an exceptional opportunity to understand Operations’ critical role in project management and strategic planning within a growing non-profit. Interns will develop hands-on Operations skills in areas such as process coordination, project management, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on various tools and software to enhance agency-wide efficiency.
  • Attend committee meetings, accurately documenting process changes and assisting with follow-up on action items.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving operational processes by documenting steps, creating Excel trackers, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting practical improvements.
  • Perform regular internal audits and data entry reviews with the COO to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Manage an operational project throughout the semester in one of the following crucial areas:
    • Client profile data
    • Parent provider data
    • Emergency planning
    • Disaster recovery planning
    • Cybersecurity streamlining
  • Support the review of state regulations and crosswalk their impact on internal departments.
  • Research federal laws and update internal policies to reflect legal changes as needed.
  • Undertake other projects and duties as assigned, dependent upon the intern’s educational goals.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated interest in Operations and/or Business Administration.
  • Interest in advocacy and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and maturity in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of DocuSign and/or database systems is a plus.

  • Understand the collaborative efforts required for Operations to support each unique department within a non-profit organization.
  • Accurately and consistently follow documented workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and apply strong research, data analysis, and SOP creation skills within an Operations context.
  • Adapt communication and collaboration strategies effectively with cross-functional partners and departments to support streamlining initiatives.
