Job Description: 2026 Manufacturing Engineer Intern
This is a full-time, onsite Manufacturing Engineer Intern position for the year 2026, operating on a First Shift schedule. The role is classified as an Individual Contributor within Support Services.
Key Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be involved in various critical aspects of production and process optimization, including:
• Shop Layout and Capacity Optimization:
• Planning and implementing shop layouts to enhance material flow and increase overall plant capacity.
• Coordinating the placement of new equipment to best utilize existing shop capacities and facilitate new production processes.
• Work Methods and Process Improvement:
• Developing and implementing efficient and safe work methods.
• Designing lean material process flows to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Ensuring equipment and tooling for products are both efficient and cost-effective.
• Training and Documentation:
• Providing training, written instructions, and standard work procedures related to products to manufacturing personnel.
• Focusing on critical processes to develop and maintain process capability among staff.
• Time Standards and Costing:
• Establishing time standards for work performed using approved Industrial Engineering practices, ensuring accurate measurement.
• Facilitating appropriate approvals to implement these time standards into the costing system.
• Productivity and Innovation:
• Evaluating existing production processes to identify opportunities for increasing productivity.
• Investigating new methods to enhance the product and manufacturing operations.
• Coordination and Stakeholder Management:
• Coordinating material and tooling availability with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth production.
• Engineering Change Notices (ECN) Management:
• Processing and implementing Engineering Change Notices for products.
• Ensuring the design is producible as drawn and that manufacturing methods are clearly defined via routing.
• Defining all associated time standards, process plans, work plans, and tool orders appropriately for ECNs.
Qualifications:
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Years of Experience: Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience.
• Software Knowledge: Proficiency is required in:
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software
• SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing)
