What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):

Field Inspection & Scouting: Systematically inspect crop fields using advanced GPS technology for precise navigation and data collection. Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques to proactively monitor and assess crop health.
Pest & Disease Identification: Accurately identify a wide range of yield-limiting threats, including common weeds, insect pests, plant diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. Your keen observations will be crucial for timely intervention.
Digital Reporting: Utilize the MyFS Agronomy App – a cutting-edge digital tool – to meticulously record your field findings. Generate detailed reports that provide valuable insights to agronomy specialists and farmers, facilitating informed decision-making.
Professional Collaboration: Work closely alongside our seasoned agronomy specialists, learning best practices and contributing to strategic crop management plans. You’ll also interact directly with farmers, building rapport and communicating your findings effectively.
Industry Exposure & Training: Gain valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of an agricultural retail business. Participate in various training sessions designed to enhance your agronomic knowledge, technical skills, and understanding of the agricultural supply chain.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):

Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Candidates currently pursuing a degree in agronomy, crop science, agriculture business, or a related field are highly encouraged to apply. An agricultural background (e.g., farm experience, FFA, 4-H) is strongly preferred.
Interest in Agriculture: A demonstrated strong interest in production agriculture, crop management, and sustainable farming practices is essential.
Outdoor Work: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various outdoor conditions (heat, humidity, rain, uneven terrain). Must be capable of walking extensive distances through fields.
Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required for traveling to various field locations.
Skills: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for clear reporting and farmer interaction. Strong organizational skills for managing routes and data. A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
