2026 Creative Summer Internship – Designer (Detailed Job Description)

Ogilvy is seeking the next generation of creative talent for its 2026 Creative Summer Internship as a Designer. The internship is based in Ogilvy New York (with the program also offered in Chicago). The Summer Internship Program:
This 10-week paid program, running from June to August, offers interns hands-on experience by engaging with live client briefs and contributing to culturally impactful work. Interns will jump into current campaigns and fast-moving projects alongside award-winning creative teams. The program provides wide exposure to different brands and creative leaders, coupled with dedicated mentorship to sharpen craft and gain real-world experience that enhances a professional portfolio.

What We’re Looking For: Designer
Ogilvy is interested in a candidate’s thought process as much as their past work. To be considered, applicants *must• include a link to a portfolio or sample of work that demonstrates their creative process and unique point of view.

The ideal candidate is:
• Insatiably curious, a “dot-connector,” and someone who loves to “make it happen.”
• Passionate about creation and “geeks out” on design principles, philosophy, techniques, tools, and trends.
• Eager to learn the latest advancements in design, including visual motion, 2D, 3D, and beyond.
• Logical and analytical, understanding the value of design in solving human problems.
• Possesses a unique point of view and a discerning editing eye.
• Capable of thinking conceptually when required.
• Empathetic, collaborative, and able to communicate clearly.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Interns will be responsible for:
• Adapting to a fast-paced environment.
• Learning new design software.
• Supporting the design team by designing visuals for various mediums.
• Assisting in pulling scrap (reference materials, mood board elements) for projects.

The Fine Print (Program Logistics):
Locations: The 2026 Summer Internship Program will be offered in Ogilvy’s Chicago and New York offices.
Hybrid Model: This is a full-time (35-40 hours a week) paid internship operating in a hybrid model, with 3-4 days expected to be in the office.
Commutable Distance: To fully immerse in the collaborative culture, interns must be located within a commutable distance of their chosen office by the start of the program in June.
Eligibility:

Compensation:
The pay range for this position at the time of posting is $20—$25 USD per hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Ogilvy offers a competitive benefits package.
