Job Description: 2026 Creative Summer Internship – Copywriter

Ogilvy is seeking the next generation of creative talent for its 2026 Creative Summer Internship – specifically for a Copywriter role. They are looking for individuals who are insatiably curious, adept at connecting dots, and driven to “make it happen,” with a profound passion for creation.

The Summer Internship Program:
This 10-week paid internship runs from June to August, offering interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with live client briefs and contributing to culturally impactful work. Interns will jump into fast-paced agency life, contributing to current campaigns and projects alongside award-winning creative teams. The program provides wide exposure to different brands and creative leaders, complemented by dedicated mentorship to sharpen their craft and build a strong, real-world portfolio.

What We’re Looking For: Copywriter
Ogilvy is interested not just in past accomplishments, but in how candidates think. To be considered, a strong application must include a link to a portfolio or sample of work that showcases the applicant’s creative process and unique point of view.

The ideal candidate for a Copywriter role:
Writes and reads a lot, demonstrating a deep understanding of good writing.
Thinks in big conceptual ideas while also grasping the execution, craft, and nuance required for various forms of copywriting.
• Understands that there are “no dead mediums, only bad writing.”
• Possesses a versatile portfolio (“book”) that proves their capability to adapt to diverse categories (from candles to tech, soda to insurance) and to fluidly jump in and out of different voices, tones, and target audiences.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Interns will be immersed in learning and absorbing fast-paced agency life and deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
• Concepting ideas.
• Extensive writing, encompassing various formats such as headlines, taglines, social posts, video scripts, manifestos, and more.

The Fine Print:

Locations: The 2026 Summer Internship Program will be offered in Ogilvy’s Chicago and New York offices.
Model: This is a full-time (35-40 hours per week) paid internship operating under a hybrid model, with 3-4 days expected to be in the office.
Commutability: To ensure full immersion in the collaborative culture, interns must be located within a commutable distance of their chosen office by the program’s start in June.
Eligibility:
• All applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Must have current and future U.S. work authorization.
Must submit a link to a portfolio or sample of work.
Pay Range: The compensation for this position is $20—$25 USD per hour. Individual compensation may vary based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
