Job Description: 2026 Commercial Banking Summer Internship – Early Careers
This is a structured 10-week summer internship program (June-August 2026, exact dates TBD) designed for undergraduate students.
Program Overview & Development Focus:
The internship aims to provide a basic understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths through hands-on experience. Interns will work with experienced teams in one of the Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to Wells Fargo’s operations, business strategies, and culture. The program is heavily focused on the intern’s development, preparing them for future career steps. Key development areas include:
• Induction Week: A week-long onboarding and training session with other Wells Fargo interns, offering networking opportunities with peers and leaders.
• On-the-job experience: Meaningful and in-depth experiences working as part of a high-performing team, actively participating in day-to-day activities to build analytical skills and a basic understanding of key processes.
• Professional support: Interns will partner with high-performing employees who serve as resources and coaches, providing guidance and feedback.
• Virtual speaker series: Top Wells Fargo leaders offer insights into making the most of the summer experience and discuss trends in the financial services industry.
• Organized networking activities: Opportunities for community involvement and networking with peers and employees across Wells Fargo.
In This Role You Will:
• Participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and initiatives.
• Complete assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures related to low-to-medium complex tasks.
• Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
• Partner with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts and drive client outcomes.
• Receive direction from a manager while exercising independent judgment, developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements.
• Prioritize work, apply attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
Location & Placement:
Offers are made for specific office locations based on candidate preference and business needs. Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement before the program starts.

Required Qualifications, US:
• 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo now or in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027. All majors are welcome.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities (e.g., volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad, leadership positions, non-profit involvement).
• Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere.
• Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.

• Boston, MA: $43.27/hr
• Charlotte, NC: $36.06/hr
• Chicago, IL: $39.90/hr

• Minneapolis, MN: $36.06/hr
• Phoenix, AZ: $36.06/hr
The general pay range for Wells Fargo positions is $18.00 – $65.00, but for this specific internship, the listed hourly rates apply based on location. Pay may vary based on factors like achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
