Job Description: 2026 Commercial Banking Summer Internship – Early Careers
This internship is a structured 10-week program designed for undergraduate students, providing them with a foundational understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths through hands-on experience. Interns will work within one of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to the company’s operations, business strategies, and culture.
Program Overview & Development Focus:
The program prioritizes the intern’s development to prepare them for future career steps. Participants will gain insight into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, alongside opportunities for professional development, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training specific to the line of business.
Key Program Elements:
• Induction Week: A dedicated week for onboarding and training alongside other Wells Fargo interns, providing a jump start to the experience and networking opportunities with peers and leaders.
• On-the-Job Experience: Interns will engage in meaningful, in-depth work as part of a high-performing team, actively participating in day-to-day activities to build analytical skills and a basic understanding of key processes.
• Professional Support: Interns will be partnered with experienced Wells Fargo employees who will serve as resources, coaches, and provide feedback throughout the summer.
• Virtual Speaker Series: Top Wells Fargo leaders will share insights on maximizing the internship experience and discuss current trends within the financial services industry.
• Organized Networking Activities: Opportunities are provided for community involvement and networking with peers and employees across Wells Fargo.
In This Role You Will:
• Actively participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and various initiatives.
• Complete numerous assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures for low-to-medium complex tasks and deliverables.
• Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that drive client outcomes.
• Receive direction from a manager while exercising independent judgment, developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area.
• Prioritize work effectively, apply strong attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and perform well under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
Program Duration:
The internship is a 10-week program, typically running from June to August 2026 (exact dates are To Be Determined and subject to change).
Placement:
Offers are made for a specific office location based on candidate preference and business needs. Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement prior to the program start.

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• An energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, remains curious, and possesses a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
Required Qualifications (US):
• 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027. All majors are welcome.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities such as volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), or non-profit involvement.
• Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere.
• An energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.
