Accounting Intern (Year Round) | Schnuck Markets, Inc.

This is a year-round internship at Schnuck Markets, Inc., located in St. Louis, Missouri. As a prominent grocery retailer, Schnucks offers this program to provide a comprehensive overview of its Accounting department. The role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial operations, covering invoice processing, supplier communication, accounting automation projects, and monthly reconciliations. Participants gain essential real-world experience in a collaborative environment, designed to accelerate their professional trajectory in accounting or finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Review: Verify payment accuracy by reviewing electronically processed invoices.
• Data Entry: Record non-electronic vendor invoices through manual entry.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve payment discrepancies by communicating with vendors and internal teams.
• Financial Close Support: Support financial close processes by ensuring accurate vendor entry cutoffs.
• Accounting Entries: Prepare weekly and/or period accounting entries.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Fall 2026/Spring 2027, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Completion of at least 30 credit hours towards a Bachelor’s Degree; availability to work 20-30 hours per week during academic years and full-time during summers.
• Skills: Proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications; strong communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented mindset; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Bonus: Interest in Schnucks advancement post-graduation.
