Job Description: 2025 US Summer Internship – Software Engineering (IDR023721)

This is a 12-week, in-person summer internship program starting in late May or mid-June 2025 for students graduating between December 2025 and July 2026. Interns must be currently residing in the US or willing to relocate. Relocation services and a living stipend are provided. The internship will be conducted Monday-Friday, with the specific in-office schedule determined by the hosting manager. Potential locations include Irvine, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Sherman Oaks, CA; Austin, TX; and Woodland Hills, CA.

The program offers several internship tracks:

Front-End Development Internship: Focuses on building and maintaining consumer-facing websites and mobile properties for games and franchises. Requires a deep understanding of front-end languages (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.) and experience with engineering tools (GitHub, unit testing, continuous integration).

Back-End Development Internship: Involves building and maintaining consumer-facing websites and mobile properties. Requires a strong understanding of Python and Java programming, the Spring framework, SQL/NoSQL databases, data scaling techniques, and various engineering tools (including GitHub, unit testing, and continuous integration).

UX/UI Engineering Internship: Centers on creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for websites and mobile applications. Requires knowledge of standard practices for websites and mobile apps, effective communication skills, and experience using design tools like Sketch.

Ecommerce Engineering Internship: Focuses on the online purchasing experience on the Battle.net Shop, encompassing payment processing and other aspects. Requires proficiency in Java, Linux/Unix, web technologies, experience with high-performance web APIs, and a passion for back-end systems.

Platform Engineering Internship: Involves working on the behind-the-scenes technology, including infrastructure and developer portals. Requires experience with JavaScript, C++, Python, Java, REST, and other back-end technologies, along with an interest in infrastructure and server architectures.

Application Engineering Internship: Covers desktop and mobile Battle.net applications, game websites, and corporate landing pages. Requires proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, React, CSS, Kotlin, and other web-related technologies, along with an interest in desktop/mobile applications and Android architecture.

Enterprise Applications Engineering Internship: Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions in enterprise architecture. Involves various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements review, design, testing, and deployment. Database development experience (RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL) and knowledge of Java, C, C++, Python, JavaScript, or API integration tools (MuleSoft/Tibco/Boomi) are a plus.

Integration Testing Engineering Internship: Focuses on integrating and branching code changes for game development. Requires proficiency in Python and scripting languages (like Lua), preferred knowledge of Perforce, experience with C/C++, and strong communication skills.

General Internship Requirements:

• Pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree, graduating between December 2025 and July 2026.
• Exhibits learning agility, problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and effective communication.
• Ability to manage time effectively. Resume and code samples are required for application.

Compensation and Benefits: The standard base pay range is $20.00 – $50.00 hourly, with the final offer dependent on various factors. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, relocation assistance (if applicable), and various other programs.
