Job Description: 2025 US Summer Internship – Software Engineering (IDR023721)

This is a 12-week paid internship program starting in late May or mid-June 2025, requiring in-person participation in one of several US locations: Irvine, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Sherman Oaks, CA; Austin, TX; Woodland Hills, CA. Relocation services and a living stipend are provided to all interns. The internship is open to students pursuing associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degrees, graduating between December 2025 and July 2026.

Internship Opportunities (Specific technical skills vary by role; see below):

• Front-End Development: Build and maintain consumer-facing websites and mobile properties. Requires deep understanding of front-end languages (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.) and experience with engineering tools (GitHub, unit testing, continuous integration).

• Back-End Development: Build and maintain consumer-facing websites and mobile properties. Requires strong understanding of Python and Java programming, Spring framework, SQL/NoSQL, data scaling techniques, and experience with engineering tools (GitHub, unit testing, continuous integration).

• UX/UI Engineering: Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for websites and mobile applications. Requires knowledge of standard practices, effective communication skills, and experience using design tools (e.g., Sketch).

• Ecommerce Engineering: Oversee the online purchasing experience on the Battle.net Shop. Requires proficiency in Java, Linux/Unix, web technologies, experience with high-performance web APIs, and a passion for back-end systems.

• Platform Engineering: Responsible for behind-the-scenes technology. Requires experience with JavaScript, C++, Python, Java, REST, and other back-end technologies, along with an interest in infrastructure and server architectures.

• Application Engineering: Work on desktop and mobile Battle.net applications, websites, and landing pages. Requires proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, React, CSS, Kotlin, and other web-related technologies; interest in desktop and/or mobile application development.

• Enterprise Applications Engineering: Work with stakeholders to identify solutions for the business in Enterprise Architecture. Involves various stages of the software development lifecycle. Database development experience (RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL), Java, C, C++, Python, JavaScript, and experience with APIs/Integrations are a plus.

• Integration Testing Engineering: Integrate and branch code changes for game development. Requires proficiency in Python, scripting languages (Lua preferred), knowledge of Perforce, experience with C/C++, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

General Internship Details:

All internships are in-person, with work schedules determined by the hosting manager.
