About The Port Authority:

Founded in 1921, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey builds, operates, and maintains many of the most important transportation and trade infrastructure assets in the country. The agency’s network of aviation, ground, rail, and seaport facilities is among the busiest in the country, supports more than 550,000 regional jobs, and generates more than twenty-three billion in annual wages and eighty billion in annual economic activity. The Port Authority also owns and manages the 16-acre World Trade Center site, where the 1,776-foot-tall One World Trade Center is now the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. The Port Authority offers paid internships, providing students with the opportunity to work with experienced professionals on assignments critical to building, operating, and maintaining transportation and infrastructure assets in New York and New Jersey.

Qualifications (for 2025 Summer Internship Program):

• Must be a college student enrolled through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region.
• Interest in public service and/or transportation.
• Willingness to learn.

Internship Details:

• Program start: Likely toward the end of May 2025.
• Duration: Approximately 12 weeks.
• Format: Most internships are hybrid, some are fully in-person.
