Job Description

Overview

Frito-Lay is seeking highly motivated and technically curious undergraduate students for its 2025 Summer Internship program at its headquarters in Plano, Texas. This 10-week internship program offers students an immersive experience within Frito-Lay’s Engineering organization, exposing them to real-world business challenges and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

Interns will work on one to three projects driven by Frito-Lay’s business needs. These projects will cover various phases of the project management life cycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure. The projects will require technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution: Contribute to the successful completion of assigned engineering projects, working alongside experienced engineers and professionals.
Technical Skills: Apply engineering knowledge and principles to analyze and solve complex problems, utilizing tools and processes relevant to the projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Gain an understanding of Frito-Lay’s supply chain and network with cross-functional teams across processing, packaging, warehousing, automation, controls, information systems, and more.
Professional Development: Develop strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, while gaining valuable insights into Frito-Lay’s culture and operations.
Performance Analysis: Assist in analyzing engineering and operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to process optimization.
Teamwork and Mentorship: Engage in collaborative teamwork, receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals, and contribute to the success of the internship program.

Qualifications

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems.
Leadership & Teamwork: Proven leadership skills in academic or extracurricular activities, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Problem-Solving & Analysis: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Communication & Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must graduate with a Bachelor’s degree within one year of internship completion.
• Must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Benefits

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay ranging from $21.50 to $40.19/hour, determined by role, degree discipline, degree level, and location.
