1st Shift Truss Assembler Associate | American Builders Supply

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at American Builders Supply, located in Gibsonton, Florida. As Florida’s largest independent supplier, the company provides lumber, truss, doors, and windows, along with installation services for the residential building market across the state. This role is crucial in the manufacturing process, directly contributing to the assembly of vital roof and floor trusses that form the structural backbone of residential homes.

• Mission: To assemble roof and floor trusses accurately and safely according to work order specifications.
• Tech Stack: Staple gun, automatic press (pressure roll), hand tools, personal protective equipment (PPE)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assembly Execution: Collaborate with the Table Leader to assemble roof and floor trusses, accurately selecting and positioning connector plates at specified points according to work order details.
• Component Fastening: Operate a staple gun to secure wooden pieces on the assembly table and utilize the automatic press (pressure roll) to firmly secure connector plates.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in thorough checks of both incoming materials and completed trusses for any defects or misalignment before they proceed to the next stage.
• Workplace Safety & Organization: Consistently maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, strictly following all company safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operational Support: Ensure all tools, such as staple guns and presses, are in good working condition, report any issues to the supervisor, and assist in the movement and organization of wood, connector plates, and other essential materials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Foundational understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow detailed instructions in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
• Experience: No specific years required, but willingness to work overtime or different shifts based on production needs is essential.
• Skills: Ability to follow safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; basic problem-solving skills; strong teamwork skills; ability to read a tape measure and basic measurements accurately.
• Bonus: Prior experience in construction, framing/carpentry, roofing, warehouse, or manufacturing assembly.
