Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is dedicated to the stewardship of Texas’s natural and cultural resources. Founded in 1895 as the Fish & Oyster Commission and becoming TPWD in 1963, we manage, conserve, and protect the state’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. We passionately provide exceptional hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation opportunities, ensuring these invaluable experiences are available for present and future generations of Texans.
