Hawaii State Department of Education

The Hawaii State Department of Education is dedicated to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students across the Hawaiian islands. As the cornerstone of public education in the state, we empower the next generation by delivering on the promise of our Strategic Plan, creating vibrant learning environments and preparing students for future success.

With a team of approximately 22,000 dedicated full-time employees—including teachers, librarians, counselors, educational officers, and support staff—we cultivate a collaborative culture committed to excellence. Our opportunities span across the main populated islands, including O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, Maui, Molokai, Lāna‘i, and Kaua‘i, with particular demand for educators on the neighbor islands and rural O‘ahu. Join us in shaping Hawaii’s future.
