Founded in 1885, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) stands as one of the nation’s largest and most diverse correctional departments. Its mission is to facilitate the successful reintegration of individuals into their communities, providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs in a safe and humane environment, equipping them to be drug-free, healthy, and employable.
