Job Description
This job involves providing clinical assistance and support to the Radiology department (X-ray/US/CT/MR/NM/IR). The role is performed under the direct supervision of a Licensed Radiology Professional.

Qualifications:
• Education:
• Essential: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certifications:
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Other Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled as a student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program in preparation for registry (ARRT/ARDMS).
Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a variety of clinical and clerical support functions, many of which require access to hospital and radiology software systems (Epic, RIS, PACS):
• Order Management & Pre-procedure Checks (Requires Epic Access):
• Ensuring imaging orders are correct and available for technologist review.
• Reviewing scheduled procedures to ensure pre-procedure labs are ordered.
• Obtaining lab results and checking for allergies and implants prior to scheduled examinations.
• Patient Scheduling & Communication (Requires Epic Access):
• Transcribing, scheduling, and rescheduling patient examinations.
• Documenting all necessary information and providing prep instructions.
• Scheduling other exams based on pre-procedure provider protocols.
• Answering calls promptly and courteously, taking accurate messages.
• Assisting the imaging technologist and radiologist by contacting referring providers.
• Patient & Record Management:
• Providing copies of imaging records and uploading images in the PACS system for patients.
• Following HIPAA rules associated with EMR information.
• Assisting patients with forms, access to exam rooms, and changing clothing.
• Transporting patients from the department to patient pick-up, and to/from clinical areas to the department.
• Environmental Maintenance & Supplies:
• Cleaning and disinfecting/preparing and maintaining patient examination rooms, holding bays, and waiting areas.
• Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
• Checking equipment supplies and accessories regularly.
• Maintaining stock of supplies for department examination rooms.
• Compliance & Professional Development:
• Maintaining established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety standards.
• Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Attending meetings as required.
• Other Duties: As assigned.
Compensation:
The maximum offer for this position is up to USD $25.96/Hr. The compensation range considers various factors including experience, training, internal equity, and other business/organizational needs.
