Job Description: Internships at HMM America Shipping Agency, Inc.

This is a paid, temporary internship position at HMM America Shipping Agency, Inc.’s New Jersey office, not to exceed 10 weeks of work per year. There is a possibility of a full-time offer at the end of the internship. The internship aims to provide ambitious students with an enriching experience in the global trade industry, helping them launch their careers with a successful global logistics organization.

What you can expect as an HMM Intern:

Assist the Inside Sales and Account Executive teams with client communication and follow-ups.
Learn HMM America Shipping Agency systems, terminology, and business solutions.
Conduct market research and gather data on potential customers and competitors.
Support the preparation of sales proposals, presentations, and reports.
Monitor and track order status and assist with resolving customer inquiries.
Help generate leads through outreach efforts (calls, emails, LinkedIn, etc.).
Participate in sales meetings and contribute to strategy discussions.
Maintain organized records of sales activities and client interactions.
Participate in internship program activities, such as trainings, lunches, and check-in meetings.
Keep track of individual learning progress utilizing program resources.
Develop a presentation at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate your learning experience based on your assigned project.

Qualifications (Your Skills and Experiences):

Currently (or recently graduated) undergraduate student, ideally majoring in supply chain, international business, or a related field.
Current enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited degree or credential program preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to be effective in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Possesses a positive attitude with an interest in learning and growing.

Additional Details:

The internship is a paid position, with the final offered rate based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. Interns are not eligible for employee benefits during the internship period. However, if a post-internship full-time offer is extended, it would include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental, and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
