Job Description (Civil Engineer Intern)

Summary:
SRP is seeking a first, second, or third-year Civil Engineer student for a long-term internship within the Transmission Line Asset Management department. The intern will work scheduled hours based on departmental needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and a maximum of 29.5 hours per week.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will assist the department with various tasks, including:
Researching, processing, and submitting technical data reports.
Learning and developing understanding of standards, procedures, and drawings.
General shadowing and assisting engineers by undertaking small design projects or assignments independently.
Assisting with other duties or assignments as needed.

Experience (Requirements):
Civil Engineer degree preferred.
Coursework in the civil sciences that is readily applicable to the position.
Must be a full-time college student, enrolled in at least 12 credit hours, in an accredited University or Community College.
Must maintain good academic standing.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
Possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
CADD and GIS background preferred.

Education:
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis by management to determine applicability to the position’s required skill level.

Hybrid Workplace:
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace model, allowing employees whose jobs can be performed remotely and who have sufficient technical capability to telework up to three days per week. However, all employees must reside and work in Arizona.
