About the Job: Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant
This role is for a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant at CenterWell Home Health, where you will be a vital part of a caring community focused on patient health. You will play a crucial role in helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence within the comfort of their homes. Your work will involve delivering personalized care that emphasizes rehabilitation and functional improvement, empowering individuals to overcome physical limitations, perform everyday activities with confidence, and enjoy an improved quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer physical therapy treatment plans as developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Perform non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and apply modalities such as traction, heat, light, cold, water, and electrical treatments to patients.
• Accurately document daily, weekly, or monthly client records.
• Submit clinical paperwork to the office on time each week.
• Attend educational meetings and coordinate and contribute to department in-services.
• Notify the Physical Therapist or Executive Director of any equipment failures, lack of supplies, staff or client changes, and other departmental concerns.
• Schedule clients and perform varied office tasks.
• Apply concepts of infection control and universal precautions in performing patient care activities.
• Accept clinical assignments that are consistent with your education and competence to care for patients.
• Promote compliance with all fiscal intermediaries and/or other third-party payors through education, coaching, and necessary assistance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills:
• Education: Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited program.
• Licensure: Current state license to practice Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Transportation: Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Certifications: Proof of current CPR certification.
• Experience: Minimum two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the physical, emotional, social, and biological changes that occur in the geriatric population.
• Personal Attributes: Self-directed, enthusiastic, accepts constructive feedback, demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Professionalism: Communicates and demonstrates a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, co-workers, and others.
• Continuing Education: Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of CenterWell Home Health and the licensing board, and maintains clinical competency in Physical Therapy practice and theory.
• Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
• Confidentiality: Able to maintain confidentiality.
• Language: Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Attendance: Must have good and regular attendance.
Compensation:
The role offers a flexible compensation structure:
• Pay per visit/unit: $41.00 – $57.00.
• Base Pay (full-time, 40 hours per week): $64,200 – $88,000 per year.
