Job Title: Business Advisory Services Intern

General Purpose: The Business Advisory Services (BAS) Intern is a motivated and knowledgeable individual responsible for carrying out day-to-day activities as instructed by their supervisor within the Business Advisory Services team. This role involves supporting clients with various financial and accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Management: Engages directly with financial statements, performs general ledger maintenance, and conducts bank reconciliations.
Financial Statement Compilation: Assists in the preparation and compilation of essential financial documents such as balance sheets and income statements.
Transaction Record Keeping: Creates and diligently maintains accurate financial transaction records for clients.
Financial Reporting: Compiles various financial reports for client management, which include detailed analyses of cash revenue and expenditure, as well as accounts payable and receivable.
Month-End Support: Provides direct assistance to clients during their month-end closing processes.
Ledger Maintenance: Manages and maintains critical financial ledgers including cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. This also extends to maintaining inventory ledgers and undertaking other comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities.
Accuracy and Compliance Checks: Meticulously checks financial figures, postings, and documents to ensure correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding.
Regulatory Adherence: Ensures full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Financial Calculations: Performs a variety of financial calculations, such as determining amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
Financial Acumen: Demonstrates a strong understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices, the dynamics of financial markets, banking operations, and the methodologies for analyzing and reporting financial data.
Analytical Thinking: Possesses the ability to understand the implications of new information for both immediate problem-solving and long-term decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Must currently be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field.
• Possesses the ability and willingness to travel to client locations within the Firm’s market area as required.
