Job Description:
OPSWAT is seeking an intern-level software engineer to join their software development team in Tampa, Florida. This role offers an opportunity to be involved in the entire software development lifecycle while contributing to the development of professional cybersecurity solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implementing new features and ensuring they are accompanied by appropriate levels of automated unit testing.
• Contributing to the design and architecture of the solutions being developed.
• Enhancing the automation testing framework to support a test-driven development (TDD) approach.
• Collaborating with local and remote engineering teams to achieve quarterly goals.
• Benefiting from the mentorship of experienced team members to foster career growth as a software engineer.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A strong passion for cybersecurity and learning.
• Possessing qualities such as being dynamic, smart, adaptable, a self-starter, open-minded, and having a teamwork mentality.
• Actively progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related major.
• Ability to provide examples of extracurricular programming projects (e.g., on GitHub).
• Demonstrated strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, C++, Java, etc.
Preferred:
• Exposure to REST API utilization and SDK integration concepts.
• Familiarity with concepts related to Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, and TeamCity.
• Exposure to virtualization technologies like VMWare, Docker, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, processes, and tools.
• Experience with using the latest technology stacks.
