The National Partnership is a 50-person staff organization committed to improving the lives of women and families by achieving equality for all women. About the Job:

Job Title: Fall 2025 Health Justice Graduate Intern

Location: Hybrid – Washington, DC. The role requires presence in a hybrid office environment in Washington, DC.

Team: The intern will join the Health Justice team, which brings a holistic and integrated lens reflecting the realities of women’s lives.

Internship Duration: The internship runs from September to December 2025, with flexibility on specific start and end dates.

Core Focus Areas of the Health Justice Team:
The team’s portfolio prioritizes:
Health system transformation
Reproductive health and rights
Maternal health
A particular emphasis is placed on addressing systemic racism that drives health inequities.

Key Responsibilities of the Intern:
As a Health Justice Intern, you will actively contribute to the team’s goals by:
• Conducting research and analysis on current policy issues.
Drafting various written materials, including briefs/memoranda, fact sheets, and other documents.
Tracking federal legislation and regulatory actions.
• Having the opportunity to attend coalition meetings, briefings, hearings, and other events on Capitol Hill and in other DC venues.
• Contributing to the team’s work on specific initiatives, such as:
• Transforming how healthcare is paid for and delivered to advance health equity.
• Improving maternity care and addressing the persistent maternal health crisis.
• Ensuring meaningful access to the full range of reproductive health services, including abortion care and contraception.

Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or other advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MPP, MPA, MSW, JD).
• Demonstrate excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and take initiative.
• Be capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to the National Partnership’s mission to improve the lives of women and families by achieving equality for all women.

Other Details:
Compensation: Interns are paid $17.95 per hour.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time internship, with interns expected to work 15-25 hours per week.
Working Hours: Regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM ET.
