Job Description, Detailed

This position is a Respiratory Therapy Support Role (Student Position), with an hourly rate of $22.12/hour. It is an Hourly position.

Overview (POSITION SUMMARY):
The individual in this role is responsible for demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills to provide respiratory therapy to patients. The therapy must be administered as ordered by a prescribing physician and be appropriate for the ages of the patients being served. Key responsibilities include:

Patient Care: Providing respiratory therapy to patients as per physician orders.
Monitoring: Monitoring levels of supplies and equipment within the department in accordance with established procedures.
Stocking: Stocking supply rooms and patient care areas as needed to ensure availability of resources.
Supervised Services: Potentially performing respiratory services ordered by a provider, but always under the supervision of a credentialed Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapist program.
• Must have successfully completed the first semester of the respiratory therapist program.
• Must remain actively enrolled and engaged in the program to maintain employment status within the respiratory therapy department.
• Employment in this role cannot exceed a period of three years from the start to the completion of the respiratory program.
License/Certification:
• Must possess a current American Heart BLS (Basic Life Support) card.

• Basic electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills are preferred.
