Job Description: 2026 Commercial Banking Summer Internship – Early Careers
This is a structured 10-week summer internship program specifically designed for undergraduate students. It aims to provide interns with a fundamental understanding of Commercial Banking and explore potential career paths through practical, hands-on experience. Interns will work within an experienced team in one of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to the company’s operations, business strategies, and culture.
Program Overview:
The internship focuses significantly on intern development to prepare them for their next career steps. It offers insights into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, professional development opportunities, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training specific to the line of business.
During the Summer, the program focuses on your development through:
• Induction Week: A week-long onboarding and training session that includes networking opportunities with peers and leaders across Wells Fargo, providing a strong start to the internship.
• On-the-job experience: Interns will have meaningful and in-depth experiences working as part of a high-performing team. Active participation in daily team activities will help interns build analytical skills and a basic understanding of key processes.
• Professional support: Interns will be partnered with high-performing employees who will serve as resources and coaches, available to answer questions, help navigate challenging situations, and provide feedback throughout the summer.
• A virtual speaker series: Top leaders from Wells Fargo will share insights on maximizing the summer experience and discuss current trends in the financial services industry.
• Organized networking activities: The program promotes community involvement and facilitates networking opportunities with both peers and employees across Wells Fargo.
In This Role You Will:
• Participate actively in formal internship program activities, workshops, and various initiatives.
• Complete numerous assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures, addressing low-to-medium complex tasks and deliverables where answers are readily obtainable.
• Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
• Partner with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that contribute to positive client outcomes.
• Receive direction from a manager while exercising independent judgment, developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements specific to the supported area.
• Prioritize work, apply attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and effectively work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
Program Duration:
• 10 weeks, typically from June to August 2026 (exact dates are TBD and subject to change).

• Required Qualifications (US): 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027. All majors are welcome.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities through one or more of the following: volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), non-profit involvement.
• Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere.
• Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.

Offers will be made for a specific office location based on candidate preference and business needs. Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement before the program starts.

The general base pay range offered for this position is $18.00 – $65.00, but specific hourly rates are provided per city above. Pay may vary depending on factors including achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
