Position Summary:
This internship offers a valuable opportunity to engage with and leverage the dynamic social media landscape. The Social Media Intern will play a crucial role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of all social media initiatives that support the Animal Care Services shelter and its various operations. The incumbent will primarily follow established policies and procedures, with extremely limited independent judgment, as most actions are controlled by these guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:
The intern will be involved in a wide range of tasks designed to provide practical experience and support the agency’s social media presence, including but not limited to:
Content Management: Assisting in the management and creation of engaging content for various social media platforms.
Media Capture: Taking photos and videos of animals to be used in social media content.
Photo Management: Managing photo submissions received from staff and volunteers.
Cross-Divisional Support: Rotating through different divisions within Animal Care Services and providing assistance where needed or as assigned by management.
Community Engagement: Interacting with members of the community on social media platforms, always under supervision.
System Proficiency: Learning and becoming proficient in various social media systems and tools.
Reporting Assistance: Assisting in the creation of reports related to social media performance and activities.
Task Fulfillment: Completing tasks set out by management from different agencies or divisions.
Practical Experience: Gaining hands-on, practical experience across a wide variety of tasks and activities within the agency or assigned division.
Mentorship & Training: Benefiting from shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities provided by seasoned professionals.
Project Work: Accepting designated, business-focused projects that involve research, proposing ideas and solutions, and presenting the final project during the internship period.
Issue Resolution: Responding to and resolving most questions and issues, while referring more complex matters to higher-level staff.
Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times regarding sensitive information.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Education: Possess a High School diploma.
Field of Study: Be currently majoring in Biology, Business, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing, Procurement, or another relevant field of study.
Technical Skills: Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrate close attention to details in their work.
Multitasking Ability: Possess the ability to effectively multitask.
Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
