Job Description: Internship
This is an unpaid internship opportunity, specifically requiring candidates to MUST BE BASED IN INDIANAPOLIS and MUST BE A COLLEGE STUDENT.
The internship focuses on maintaining the freshness, engagement, and accuracy of content across Do317’s website, newsletter, and social media channels. Interns will be deeply involved in various aspects of the website and operational processes, requiring an ambitious candidate with keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
• Content Management & Strategy:
• Thinking creatively about content opportunities, social media strategy, audience engagement, and consumer behavior.
• Contributing new ideas and opinions to the team.
• Finding creative opportunities for media trades, event sponsorships, partnered content, and brand partnerships.
• Identifying ways Do317 can collaborate with other companies to generate attention, audience growth, brand awareness, and potentially sales/revenue.
• Event Participation & Support:
• Attending and covering shows and events in and around Indianapolis, often outside normal office hours.
• Being available to attend a large majority of Do317-produced events.
• Assisting with Do317 events.
• Running errands as needed.
• Business Development Support:
• Compiling lists of leads, including links to websites, social media, and contact information.
• Networking: Interns will have the opportunity to network and make valuable contacts within the industry.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Location & Student Status: Must be based in Indianapolis and currently a college student.
• Time Commitment: Able to work 15-25 hours per week.
• Passion: Strong passion for music, culture, food, events, and nightlife.
• Work Ethic: Self-motivated, focused, capable of completing tasks, and able to take initiative.
• Flexibility: Flexible schedule to attend events frequently. While 21+ is preferred for some events, candidates over 18 are encouraged to apply.
• Mindset: Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of creative problem-solving and identifying growth opportunities.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong people skills, able to tactfully communicate with individuals and businesses to encourage engagement with Do317.
• Composure: Ability to stay calm in high-pressure event environments.
• Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Do317 product and its benefits for both clients and users.
• Communication: Confident, creative thinker, able to speak up and contribute effectively in a team environment.
• Academic/Professional: Ideally, candidates should be looking to fulfill a college credit requirement. This is negotiable based on other skills, but candidates not seeking credit must demonstrate strong capability for the role. Marketing experience or prior coursework is a plus.
