Job Description:
The position is for an Intern (Therapy/Counseling). This role is designed for individuals seeking to gain internship hours as part of their graduate program.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Commitment: A minimum of a full school year commitment is required.
• Hours: Interns must commit to a minimum of 16 hours weekly.
• Client Interaction: Interns will not have individual caseloads. Instead, client clinical hours are obtained through various direct interactions, including:
• Group Facilitation: Leading or assisting with therapeutic groups.
• Direct Meal Support: Participating in and supporting clients during meals.
• Milieu Support: Engaging with clients in the general therapeutic environment.
• Individual Client Check-ins: Conducting brief, direct check-ins with clients.
• Meal/Snack Participation: Interns are specifically required to eat meals and snacks with clients as part of their support role.
• Prohibitions: Recording clients is strictly prohibited and, therefore, cannot be used for clinical supervision.
Qualifications:
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
• The graduate program must be in a relevant field such as Mental Health Counseling, Professional Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related program.
• The primary purpose of the internship is to gain required internship hours for the aforementioned graduate programs.
