Job Description
The role is for a Student Intern, Identity and Access Management (IAM) & Operations at Tucson Electric Power. The company is seeking an energetic individual to join the IT Security team.
Position Description:
The intern will assist IT Security with the design, planning, testing, and execution of IAM-related projects. This position offers practical experience by providing an opportunity to learn IAM principles, standards and compliance, policies and procedures, and the tools and systems used by the department. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in Identity Management, Access Governance, and Information Technology.
Position-Related Responsibilities:
• Assist with the day-to-day administration of identity and access across various company systems and applications.
• Support role-based access control (RBAC) analysis and user access reviews to ensure compliance with regulations such as CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
• Help maintain IAM tools and platforms, including managing provisioning and de-provisioning processes for user access.
• Collaborate with Analysts and other IT teams to support IAM-related and cross-functional IT projects.
• Assist in documenting IAM procedures and workflows to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Participate in data cleanup efforts to maintain the accuracy and consistency of identity and access records.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending effective solutions.
Qualifications:
• Must be pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Expected graduation date of May 2028 or sooner.
• Ability to work a minimum of 15–20 hours per week during regular business hours.
• Up to 40 hours a week may be available during the summer and school breaks.
• Possesses a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Has functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Requirements for Student Interns:
• Must maintain the required hours for full-time student status as defined by their college or university.
• Must maintain good academic standing at their college or university.
• Must maintain the GPA required for graduation by their college or university.
• Failure to meet any of these academic requirements will result in ineligibility for participation in the program.
• Student Interns are employed on a temporary basis and are generally not eligible for some benefits, including holiday pay.
• Work hours and assignments are scheduled with the understanding that Student Interns’ academic responsibilities take precedence (students first, employees second).
The pay rate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
