About the Category Management Intern Job:
This is a 12-month paid internship opportunity within the Category Management team at Lactalis American Group, Inc., located in New York, NY (80 Pine Street, New York, NY 10005).

Job Purpose:
The Category Intern will assist the Category Manager with analyzing various data to develop detailed reports and presentations, primarily for the foodservice division. The intern will contribute to all Category outputs and work on continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:
• Utilize data platforms to create a variety of reports supporting diverse business needs, including Sales, Marketing, Trade, Account, and Distributor.
• Develop a clear understanding of syndicated data measures.
• Assist in analyzing syndicated data reports to evaluate category performance and identify growth opportunities.
Report/Presentation Building:
• Assist in constructing customer business reviews that assess category performance and highlight growth opportunities.
• Transform syndicated data reports into presentation-ready formats for customer sharing using PowerPoint and Excel.
• Publish monthly reports for internal review with account managers.
• Assist with building customer sales presentations for various accounts as needed.
Category Development:
• Develop a clear understanding of the specialty cheese category and its growth drivers.
• Become familiar with the Lactalis product line and help identify growth opportunities.
• Become familiar with the assigned account business.
• Support various sales teams and diverse customer needs, including National, Key, and Distributor businesses.
• Comply with all Lactalis American Group policies, including compliance as explained by Legal and Human Resources.

Requirements (Qualified Applicants Will Contribute The Following):

Education & Experience:
• Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from a four-year college or university, with a preference for Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Some practical experience through prior internships or professional experiences is required.
• Experience with syndicated data, specifically IRI and Symphony/EYC, is preferred.
• Grocery/supermarket industry experience is a plus.
Skills / Abilities:
• Must be very detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Open-minded, with the capacity to understand, analyze, and react effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and teamwork ability; capable of multi-tasking.
• Proactive in tasks and possesses a strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
• Significant knowledge of current software systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain strong professional relationships with diverse groups and associates in different locations.
• Highly organized with experience managing multiple projects and priorities while managing workflow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.

Salary:
The salary for this internship position is $24 – $26 per hour.
